On-Device Machine Learning
Identity Design
Google wanted a brand for a conference to teach Googlers the importance of machine learning.
Identity designed for the Google On-Device Machine Learning (ODML) Summit. The event taught Googlers why ODML was important to the future of the company.
The icon is influenced by 8-bit graphics on arcade games like space invaders, referencing the fact that ODML typically requires 8-bit processing to work.
The lockup incorporates three-dimensional letters into a cube drawn on an isometric grid.
The identity was made for internal use, but we wanted to tie it visually to Google’s Machine Learning plaatform, Tensorflow. The orange is pulled from the TensorFlow color palette and balanced with complementary colors. The color palette and similar visual styles make the logo complement the TensorFlow logo while also standing as its own brand.
